Back From Our "Rained-Out" Vacation

Well, we just got back today from Vermont. Vermont, where it has rained more than 8 inches in the last 10 days! Roads were literally getting washed out. I can say this is NOT where we want to have our family reunion. It was great hanging out with Kacie and David, but we were really in the middle of nowhere. We came back early today to because Don and I were going to a special event that Siena puts on once a year at the Saratoga Race Track. We raced home, got dressed, raced back up to Saratoga to get there JUST in time to watch hundreds of people pouring out of the race track because they canceled the races due to hail and rain! We couldn't believe it...but Saratoga is a pretty cool place and the race track is beautiful. The racing season lasts through Labor Day so if anyone wants to come visit and go to the track, we'd love to have you. the track is only 35 minutes from us.

FYI: any of you guys can create new posts. It only takes a few minutes and I'm sure you don't want to just read my posts. It takes a lot less time than a phone call. Pictures wanted!

Got the Pictures! Who Wants 'Em?

Okay guys, I made all these copies (15) of each picture....of the few pictures I took while I was in Arizona. I'm mad I didn't take more, but that's the subject of another post. But whatever I have I'd love to share. If you'd like a set, post your the address and I'll send you the pictures. When we get together next time I'm going to take LOTS of pictures. Speaking about the next time we get together, there was a lot of talk about a cruise...but I'm thinking the bar bill would be HUGE! What do you think about the idea of renting a couple of houses right on the ocean in the Outer Banks or the Jersey Shore? Or a house on a big lake? How long do you think we could handle all of us being together? Let's start throwing some ideas on the table so we know how many pennies we should start saving. hey Patti, what about Eileen's place down in Mexico?

I told you I would do it! It was great seeing everybody even though it was for a sad occasion. We all agreed that we need and want to stay in touch more and this is easy way to do it. Instead of making a bunch of phone calls...one post gets to everybody. Somehow I'm going to find a way to make Billy and Michael do it too. So this will be the place to post news, pictures, memories of the family and any updates, ideas, feedback on the 2010 Dysfunction Hughes Family Reunion. Here's just a few of the pictures I took out in AZ...I'll be sending copies out to everyone because Snapfish had a BIG sale on their prints. Haven't got them in the mail yet, but I'll get them out as soon as I get them.
